We need to recruit more umpires, so there is more of a variety to ump games.  We also discussed umpire fees and when they get paid.  The will be discussed further next year.
The end of season evaluation will be mailed to player’s homes.

Treasurer’s Report   (John D)

Equipment expenses were approximately $12,000.
Expenditures coming up are tourney fees, trophies, and umpire fees.
Sterling Little League remains in remarkable financial shape!

Field’s Update   (Rick M & Joe C)

There appears to be rocks in the mix used for the infield (from Baldarelli).  We will need to get a full load of infield mix.
Rick suggested doing a fall clean-up day, in addition to the spring.
Mound on Major field seems too steep.  Bill Tuttle will be bringing his equipment to the field.
The AAA field should have a small shed/box for field prepping equipment, such as lime.
Rick also mentioned the idea of permanent lime lines, dug in on the foul lines.
The Board voted to purchase a double cage from Steve Santucci for $900.
Joe C presented a plan for a swing set, enclosed bleachers, and a batting cage along the Holden road side of the AAA field.
Joe will attend the Conservation meeting to present the plan.
Rick will ask Lou Manring about grading the entryway to the Major Field.

Fundraising   (Jan G)

Home Run Derby went well.
$2,500 has already been deposited.  That represents about half of pledged amounts.
Please try to get all other money and pledge forms in ASAP.

Trophies   (Joe C)

Board voted for trophies for all.  Joe will order from Trophy World in Leominster.

Fall Baseball    (All)

Fall baseball is available for 9-12 yr olds.
The form will be put on the web.

League Directors’ Update

T-Ball – need to reserve both fields next year.
AAA – going well, playoffs starting Sunday.
Major – there has been some trouble with kids in the snack shack and upstairs announcing.  A decision was made to limit the announcers to 2 older kids, and minimize the number of kids in the snack shack.

Post Season Tournament Review   (All)

Major League kids voted for their district picks.
Major League managers will choose the district team and the 11 & 12 yr old team for the Holden tournament.
Rick will organize and manage the 10 and under team for the Clinton and Burkett tournaments.
There will also be a AAA team in the Holden tournament.  Jim will organize this team.
